Our facilitator Ms. Reema Sharma, PGT, English attended a workshop on 'Fostering Critical and Creative Thinking' organized by CBSE, COE, Noida on Wednesday, 9th, June, 2021.
The main key learning point was to understand the importance of critical & creative thinking and how it differs from other types of thinking.
The resource person Ms. Monica Chawla highlighted the key features of critical & creative thinking. She provided with dozens of creative thinking tools, in which she focused on 3Cs- curious, concerned, create. Further she emphasized on brainstorming, an essential part of critical thinking and a tool that people use to invent an idea, find a solution to a problem, or answer a question.
The participants also explored six main critical thinking skills : interpretation, analysis, inference, explanation, evaluation and self- regulation.
At the end of the workshop the participants had an understanding of critical thinking and exposure to several tools for organising thoughts, finding creative solutions and communicating those ideas with students.
