Our English Facilitator Ms.Reema Sharma attended an online workshop on ‘Strategies/Methodologies in English (Listening Skill) for Class IX-X conducted by CBSE, CoE-Patna on Thursday, 8th Oct, 2020.The purpose of the session was to fortify teachers with effective teaching methodologies (listening) needed for the millennial generation of students. The resource person, Ms.Rashmi Priya basically focused on the strategies of Listening skills, their characteristics, styles, difficulties and how to improve these. She recommended some of the methods for students and teachers which can really remodel their skills:

• Listen to English daily.
• Watch English movies/TV shows.
• Watch English news.
• Listen to English songs.
• Listen to Ted talks.
• Listen to Podcasts.
• Listen to Audiobooks.
• Transcription exercises.

Further, she spoke that we need to give our students a variety of listening exercises to prepare them for real life use of language.
A constructive and collaborative learning process by students was emphasized upon with teachers as facilitators. All were encouraged to use different listening tools to make the process of teaching-learning fun and student friendly.
