Samsara The World Academy sent two of its teachers to attend a  workshop on Capacity Building Programme on Career and Guidance being organized by CBSE at Sarvottam International School, Noida Extension on 6th and 7th  March, 2018.

The resource person Ms Manju Gupta enlightened the participants with her immense knowledge, real life experiences and incidents. It was very informative, interactive and interesting to know about the wider range of careers available today. 

The workshop highlighted the role of the teachers as Career Counselors. It emphasized that all the subject teachers must take initiative and find out the various career opportunities available for students if they pursue their subjects in future. This will help students in selecting their stream and subjects in higher classes.

It was advised that schools must create Career Corners where they can display articles, pamphlets, flyers for students and teachers. This will keep them updated with latest trends and terminologies. Teachers can then discuss them in the classrooms.

 The school should inform children about various scholarship programs offered by government and private institutions so that they can make the best use of the opportunities available to them.

It suggested that the school should  collaborate with different organizations and arrange  internship for students and enable them to have  on-job experience in the field they wish to choose.

It further advocated that school may invite eminent personalities from all walks of life, school alumni or parents to share their thoughts about their career, the qualifications required for it,  duration of the course, institutions offering such courses, fee structure, internship programs, placements and most important the future growth in that particular field. This will enable students to choose their career wisely.
