To integrate Arts & Culture with Education, CBSE has introduced ‘Handicraft’ as a Skill Module at middle school (from class VI onwards). This course is also aligned with NEP-2020.
To sensitize the teachers, CBSE had organised an Online Awareness Programme in association with the Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council on 12th March, 2021.
The eminent speaker Mr. Biswajeet Saha, Director of Training and Skill Education, highlighted that it is necessary to introduce students to their culture which will enable them to have a sense of belonging and identity. It will also help them value their culture and traditions.
Other eminent guest speakers were Mr. R.P Singh, Joint Secretary-CBSE, and Co- Chairman of HCSSC Mr. Arshneel along with CEO Kishan Kumar, Handicraft and Carpet sector skill Counsellor. Samsara - The World Academy also believes that teaching the young minds about our heritage is a way of making them feel connected and inspired towards what they are learning.
