The abacus is a mechanical aid used for counting. The frame of the abacus has a series of vertical rods on which several wooden beads are allowed to slide freely. A horizontal beam separates the frame into two sections, known as the upper deck and the lower deck.

Samsara-The World Academy organised an 'Abacus Learning Activity for the students of Grade MB to II on 16th, Dec 2021.

Our tiny tots learnt the basics of Mathematical concepts of Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication through the Abacus Method.

This activity allowed them to learn and understand the basic Mathematical concepts of addition, subtraction and multiplication of numbers in this Play - way Method.

The main objective of this activity was to let the children explore and learn the basic Mathematical concepts using a different learning aid.

The students were very active in doing their calculations while doing this activity. They were also extremely happy engaging themselves in a new learning experience.
