National Mathematics Day

“Without Mathematics, there’s nothing you can do. Everything around you is Mathematics. Everything around you is numbers.”- Shakuntala Devi.

National Mathematics Day is celebrated on 22 December every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan who made an exemplary contribution to Mathematics.

To celebrate and appreciate the contribution of Mathematics Wizard Dr S. Ramanujan and to create students’ interest in studying Mathematics and its importance in day-to-day life situations , Samsara- The World Academy celebrated 'Mathematics Day' on 22nd December 2021.
On this occasion, several activities were conducted for the students of classes 1 to 10. All the students not only participated in the activities with great enthusiasm and zeal, but also learnt the techniques to apply the knowledge of maths in a variety of contexts.
The little mathematicians of Classes 1 & 2 showed their understanding in “Roleplay on Shapes.” While the geniuses of Class III enthusiastically took part in “Fun with Maths.“ The bright students of classes 4 & 5 showed their analytical thinking in “Four Operations Game”. The intelligence and problem-solving skills of the intuitive students of classes 6-8 could be seen brilliantly when they actively competed in “The Tic –Tac Activity.”
Our competent mathematicians of classes IX and X also showed a thoughtful display of their analytical power and logical reasoning in the “Coordinate Geometry on Ground” activity.
The Mathematics Day witnessed the true intellect and hard work put up by the students. The entire event was the true embodiment of the spirit of mathematical and critical thinking skills.
Our revered Principal Capt. Praveen Roy encouraged the students to participate in such activities in future as well, to maintain the math culture and to practice day-to-day aspects of mathematics.
