The Facilitators Ms Reema Sharma and Ms Shivangi Kapur of "Samsara The World Academy" attended Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on English-class X at Apeejay School, Noida organised by CBSE-Centre of Excellence, Gurugram(HR) on 5th and 6th January 2018.The programme was headed by the CBSE-Editorial Board Chief Ms Kirti Tondon (also Sr. Co-ordinator, Step by Step School) and Ms.Vandana Kapoor (Principal, D.A.V Mausam Vihar).
The objective of the programme was to provide a platform for professional development and subject-based interaction among the teachers. Many teachers of different renowned schools across NCR attended the workshop.
The Resource person primarily focused with revised X class English curriculum and question pattern as well as in depth study of the four skills of English i.e.Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW). Writing Skills were discussed at length with its analysis, understanding of typology and having the clarity of the format and contents such as formal/informal letters, story writing, article,report writing etc. Apart from these, short videos, anecdotes and narrating real life classroom experiences were also showed as to help the teachers to learn and understand their students better. The teachers were enthusiastically involved in different activities like preparing lesson plans and its presentation.
They were also engrossed in different hand-out activities; conjointly opened new doors of learning for the teachers. The resource person's constant guidance through the two days helped the educators to comprehend the revised board system. Nevertheless, it brushed up their existing skills to learn, unlearn and relearn as to have a better understanding of all the four skills. The workshop really gave a launch pad to ask question, to enhance knowledge and share ideas and thoughts.
