Two days workshop was organised by CBSE on 12 and 13 April, 2019 at their Regional Office in New Delhi. Our Facilitators from Samsara-The World Academy , Ms. Priya Singh and Ms. Sarita Saklani, got the opportunity to participate in it. The workshop primarily focussed on 'Adolescence Education Programme '.
The two eminent Speakers, Mrs. Geetanjali, a Psychologist and Counsellor, and Dr. Usha Saha talked about the importance of the Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) and how it aims to empower young students with accurate, age appropriate and culturally relevant information, promote healthy attitudes and develop skills to enable them to respond to real life situations in positive and responsible ways.
The Speakers also discussed the methodologies being used for implementing Adolescence education effectively. Some of them are : role play, situation analysis and case studies, group discussion, brainstorming, value clarification, debate, quiz contest, visualization, presentations and question box and anything else that engages the learners to think, analyze and infer in a participatory, non-judgmental manner.
The workshop provided an important learning to the participants that Adolescence education needs to be imparted to adolescents for smooth and successful transition as adults.
