Workshop on Connecting & Communicating with Parents
Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations. No school can work well for children if parents and teachers do not act in partnership on behalf of the children’s best interests as parents are the stake holders in every school.

Our facilitator Ms. Pramila Panda, PGT, Physics, attended an online Capacity Building Programme on “Connecting and Communicating with Parents” conducted by CBSE, Centre of Excellence on 20th, May-2021.
The resource person was Ms Ritu Mehta, Principal, Apeejay School.
The objective of the workshop was to make the school environment more conducive by involving the parents and connecting them with the best communicative skills.
The resource person guided the participants about ways to make the parents more communicative. She told the participants that there are mainly two modes of communication, one is formal and the other informal. The formal mode of communication includes exhibitions, annual days, sports day etc. on the other hand the informal way of communication includes various types of documentations done with the parents.
She further emphasised that every conversation with the parents through video calls or telephonic calls should begin with a positive note. During PTM, the teacher should allow the parents to speak and listen to them patiently.
The workshop gave the participants new horizons to enhance their communicative skills.
