Workshop on "School Leadership"

One of the Facilitator from Samsara-The World Academy, Mr. Mithilesh Kumar Choudhary, attended the 49TH ALL INDIA SCHOOL LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP Organised by IECS (Indira Educational Consultancy Services) at Indian International Center, New Delhi, held between 14 September to 16 September 2018.
The Resource persons included various reputed Principals from prestigious educational institutes as the like of PROF. (DR.) B. L. HANDOO, Mrs Mrinalini Kaura. Mr Vikram Dutt, Mr. Yog Raj, Maj. Gen. N. K. Dhir, Dr. Ashok Panday, Mrs. Vandana Saxena, Mr. G.Balasubramanium , Dr.Ashok Avatar Singh and Mrs. Neera Mathur.
These galaxy of educators and excellent orators shared their wide experience and knowledge and enlightened the gathering with their views on Transformational leadership, Education & sustainable development goals.
hey discussed about Innovative teaching - learning strategies, In-service training and mentoring, involving
Parents in teaching-learning process via PTA and PTM.
PTM is mandatory by CBSE and it must cater the following requirements. It should be Meaningful, Points of discussion should be handy, Teachers role in child's development and Parents role should be clearly devised. There must be continuous review by the Head of the school followed by an Action plan.

They emphasized that educators should think differently and focus not on technology but on collaborative learning.
It's need of 21st century that Curriculum should be interdisciplinary. It should be more Research based and Project based
Thematic learning and Collaborative learning should be the part of imparting teaching. HOTS should be incorporated in all the subjects.

They elaborated the 5C model of leadership that will enable The head of school and Principal to optimize their leadership skills and they are:
Competence, Courage, Confidence
Communication, Consistency and
Integrity.

They also highlighted the traits of effective Principal :
Good communicator one who connects and interacts
The educator who instructs and leads
The Invisionary who can have development plans
Facilitator who facilitates smooth functioning of various deparrments
Enabler of human relations and skills
He/ She should be a Change Master, a futuristic who not only enhances his/her own skills but contributes equally in the success of others. A role model with high values and character who can channelise the institution into new avenues and opens the door to new prospectives.
