"Save Children from Corporal Punishment"
With a beautiful thought in mind, our school Samsara The World Academy organised an in-house workshop on 'Corporal Punishment' for teachers and staff on Saturday, 10 Aug'19, as to sensitize teachers against the use of Corporal punishment.The session was conducted by the Samsara Facilitator Ms.Jyoti Kulshreshta who highlighted about the perception and consequences of corporal punishments. She told that corporal punishment is not a healthy punishment technique in school or in the family. This hinders the psychological, physical and mental growth of the children. It makes them lost trust and respect for the teachers who physically punish them.
Further she briefed that teachers can now be punished severely if children are subjected to any physical or verbal abuse. She even read some guidelines for affirmative action in school towards Positive Development of children. Session concluded with a positive note to ensure an end to the practice and eliminate corporal punishment with positive discipline consists of a specific set of techniques for rewarding good behaviour.
