In the year 1995 UNESCO decided to celebrate the day of 23rd April every year to be celebrated as World Book Day and honour many literary personalities and primarily mark the death anniversary of the ' Father of Literature' - William Shakespeare.

UNESCO selects a World Book Capital during World Book Day for one year and conducts various activities to celebrate and encourage reading.

This year's theme is "You are a Reader".
Samsara -The World Academy also went with the flow and encouraged its young Samsarians from grades Nursery to VIII to actively participate and celebrate the day. Different activities like storytelling with puppets for juniors and storytelling sessions for grades III to VIII were conducted in classrooms.
Students also pledged to continue reading books to shape their as well as others' future.
