To enhance the knowledge of the students and to make them aware of the fact that the science of today is the technology of tomorrow, an interhouse activity 'Rocket Science With Balloon' was conducted for the students of classes VI to VIII at Samsara- The World Academy on Friday, 12 July, 2019 , by facilitators of science department, Ms.Seema Singh and Ms. Chhavi Sharma. The judges for the activity were Ms.Promila Panda and Ms. Nusrat Fatima.
The aim of this activity was to explain as to how rocket moves away from the earth's surface by using air thurst. The activity also postulated, "Newton's Third Law of Motion which states that "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction".
Students were able to visualize and understand that when air inside the balloon comes out with extreme pressure it pushes the balloon in opposite direction, hence it moves away from the earth. Similarly rocket are sent away from the earth's surface to space. It was an interesting activity giving hands on experience to the young learners and enhanced their conceptual knowledge.
